Turning Travel Tales into Tatami Trails...

Aikido has been a part of my life since I was six. I currently enjoy training, and more recently teaching, at New York Aikikai. When I left my full-time job, I took advantage of the opportunity to explore the world, from tatami to table to trail. The more I travel, the better I get at identifying the dos and don'ts of planning aikido, hiking, biking, and eating excursions.

I am currently pursuing a master's in food studies at NYU. The program has helped me understand and appreciate the people I meet and the food that finds me during these trips. As more of my friends start traveling the world for aikido, exploration, and food, I want to share the tips I've discovered and make their experiences as positive and memorable as mine have been.

This is the inspiration for Tatami Trails...
